Several interesting studies are making headlines this month. They address both the usefulness of XR for vocational training for people with autism spectrum disorder and the uses of AR to deceive you. Food for thought! We’re also revisiting AR glasses to see if they truly represent the future. You’ll see that for Evan Spiegel (Snap), the answer to this question is obvious.

There hasn’t been much news from XR companies, but October saw several interesting funding rounds, including one from Magic Leap, which is making a strong commitment to the glasses market with Google and Android XR. This could be a serious competitor for the ecosystem led by Meta. They’re not the only company looking to follow this path, as Amazon and Alibaba have also announced plans for consumer-grade glasses. As for Apple, it’s unclear what’s in store for them in the coming months, but why not a pair of glasses?

Realwear, for its part, presented the third version of its Arc system designed for professionals. And, of course, the big announcement of the month came from Samsung and its new Galaxy XR headset, while we await the Lynx version. As you can see, Android XR is on everyone’s mind!

This monitoring also includes various uses, from pop-up events at Citadium Haussmann in Paris to an augmented reality mural unveiled in downtown Des Moines, including augmented surgery and the presentation of the EagleEye helmet from the company Anduril for the US Army.

See you in a month!
