Like every year, August is rather quiet in the augmented reality sector and we are all waiting for the announcements of the various September meetings at Meta or Apple. But we still had some interesting articles, in particular on the evolution of glasses and the transformation of « space computing ». We also took the opportunity to explore the links between art and XR with Gérard « Holoman » Bernasconi.
On the business side, nothing very new even if Microsoft seems to be interested in augmented reality glasses. Other manufacturers are also making announcements of this type, but with a little more anticipation like Snap which will soon offer its 5th generation. In the software part, we will remember the announcement of Meta to close « Spark Studio », its tool for creating augmented reality filters for Facebook and Instagram. If you are a creator, you have 6 months to find a plan B.
For uses, I recommend you watch the excellent video on the use of 3D at IKEA. Another interesting news from Uganda, the country is implementing a proactive policy of using XR in education. Is this a first step? We’ll see!
See you in a month!

At the last edition of the AWE a particularly interesting round table was dedicated to this subject. It is time to give you a little summary and invite you to watch it.
